Hanbali Fiqh: Umdatul Fiqh (Purification)

Ustadh Wasim Kempson
21 Lessons (3 Months Course)
fee: $80.00

'Umdatul Fiqh serves as a primer to the study of hanbali fiqh. The author of this text, Ibn Qudamah al Maqdisi is considered not just a master of hanbali fiqh, rather he is rightly considered a master of comparative fiqh as his magnum opus al Mughni clearly shows. Succinct and concise, this text is an ideal starting point to study the fiqh of Salah.

Purification is the key to worshipping Allah correctly and thus moving one step closer to having one’s worship accept by the Lord of the worlds. This fact alone is sufficient to demonstrate the importance of studying and mastering this course. If we add to this the scenario and question that every Muslim finds himself in at some point in their life, was my prayer valid because I made wudu like this? What is valid because I did Tayammum? Was it valid because I found impurity on my clothes later on? Was I in a pure state during that act of worship or not?

To grant yourself peace of mind and tranquillity in your life when others end up in turmoil, unrest and run from one person to another, from one action to another, and end up burdening themselves with hardships that Allah never intended for them, to save yourself from these things then this course is a must.

Whenever the scholars begin the subject of Jurisprudence they begin with this, so when are you going to start with the right beginning?

The course is based on the classical and world renowned Hanbali text, Umdatul-Fiqh by the illustrious Imam, scholar and jurist Muwaffaq al-Deen Abdullah ibn Ahmad ibn Quqaamah al-Maqdisi, rahimahullaah.

Biography of Author:
Ibn Qudamah was a great scholar of the Hanbali Madhhab, author of the illustrious encyclopaedia on jurisprudence, al-Mughni. He was born and died in the land which Allah and His Messenger described as being blessed, Palestine and Damascus respectively.

He studied with some of the major scholars of his time and also met Abdul-Qadir al-Gilaani shortly before he passed away.

Ibn Qudamah passed away in the year 620 AH on the day of Eid al-Fitr, may Allah shower Him with Mercy abundantly.

Ibn an-Najjaar described him as: "The Imaam of Al-Hanabilah (Hanbalis) in the Mosque of Damascus, he was a trust worthy, noble figure, extremely generous, of a clean character, a cautious worshipper, follower of the Salaf in methodology, emitting light (of knowledge and piety) and respectful. Testimonials

"I have been studying at Tayyibun Institute since 2008 and last year I moved to Saudi Arabia. Although I was very happy, I soon realized that I could not seek knowledge without first learning the Arabic Language. Whilst learning Arabic I also wanted to seek Islamic knowledge. I saw some online courses but felt that it would not be as good as Tayyibun Institute, so I was very happy when I found out that they have online courses. Even though one might think that their online courses are not as good as the centre, it turned out to be better than going to the centre, not only because I live in Saudi Arabia but mainly because you will be able to study in your own time. From what I have experienced I can say that the courses at Tayyibun Institute (and online) are very much practical. Jazaahum'Allahu Khairan"
