COPYRIGHT & INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
PIRACY IS ILLEGAL & HARAM
All around the world Islamic scholars have ruled unauthorised copying is Haram and illegal. The reasons they give are simple and straightforward:
1- A Muslim should not take anything that does not belong to him/her without the owner's permission
2 - Copyright laws protect the work of the copyright owner from theft and abuse and it is our duty as Muslims to honour such laws
3 - If we receive copyrighted materials we cannot make copies to give away just like we cannot make copies of the money we possess to benefit others
ISLAMIC EDUCATIONAL MEDIA IS IN CRITICAL CONDITION
1 - Illegal piracy is crippling the growth of Islamic Educational Media. Some producers have scaled back their work while others are in danger of shutting down
2 - People who sell bootlegged copies are thieves not producers. If companies and organisations stop producing, these pirates will have nothing to contribute to our community
3 - If it is impossible for people to recover the costs of production, the field of Islamic Educational media will die a slow but painful death
WHAT YOU CAN DO
Tayyibun Institute believes that our community truly wants to support quality, original Islamic products. You can help us survive this crisis by taking these simple steps:
1 - Study through only legal copies from the producers or their authorised representatives
2 - Report and incidents of illegal piracy
3 - Encourage your friends and relatives to study through legal copies only

"I have been studying at Tayyibun Institute since 2008 and last year I moved to Saudi Arabia. Although I was very happy, I soon realized that I could not seek knowledge without first learning the Arabic Language. Whilst learning Arabic I also wanted to seek Islamic knowledge. I saw some online courses but felt that it would not be as good as Tayyibun Institute, so I was very happy when I found out that they have online courses. Even though one might think that their online courses are not as good as the centre, it turned out to be better than going to the centre, not only because I live in Saudi Arabia but mainly because you will be able to study in your own time. From what I have experienced I can say that the courses at Tayyibun Institute (and online) are very much practical. Jazaahum'Allahu Khairan"
